Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. For the GS-13 Grade level:
Applicants must possess (1) year of specialized experience which is equivalent to at least the GS-12; or its non-federal equivalent that demonstrates experience planning, developing, and implementing all various loan assistance programs; formulating objectives and allocating available resources necessary to effectively implement loans and grants in business and industry, cooperatives, single-family housing, multi-family housing, and/or community facility; perform administrative and/or technical supervision; or similar work. There is no education substitution at this grade level. NOTE:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
