Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.In this position, you will serve as the Diversity & Inclusion Trainer within the Office of Equal Rights, to ensure compliance with the mandates of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) directives and other Federal guidelines governing equal employment opportunity. Developing procedures, criteria and standards for use in evaluating the training and educational program and conducts surveys to evaluate program effectiveness in relation to the needs of the organization. Provides technical assistance, policy guidance and development to improve the execution of responsibilities by FEMA staff. Coordinating with other offices (e.g., Facilities, Security, Chief Learning Officer, FEKC, Reasonable Accommodations etc.), as needed, to ensure effective coordination and accessibility for all OER training activities. The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. You qualify for this position at the IC-14 level (starting salary $108,095) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-13) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
Providing training to a diverse workforce on varied EEO and diversity and inclusion topics. Providing guidance on diversity, inclusion and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, regulations, policies, processes and/or directives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and provides valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Your application must show that you meet all requirements for this position. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
