A Metallurgical Engineer with experience in metallurgy, including ductile iron, and the metallographic analysis of metals is needed for a direct hire position located in eastern Alabama. Regional relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities for the Metallurgical Engineer
Performs metallurgical analysis and physical testing associated with the department's product development projects
Performs qualification analysis and testing of outsourced castings and other parts
Provides supervisory assistance and procedural instruction to department's machine shop and product test bay personnel as needed
Maintains, calibrates, and operates metallurgical and metrology equipment
Performs product and process quality audits
Requirements for the Metallurgical Engineer
Requires a BS in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering
3 to 5 years relevant work experience in metallurgy, including ductile iron and the metallographic analysis of metals
Familiarity with metrological and analytical equipment and its operation
Must be familiar with various metal forming industries and related processes
