_Basic Duties_ :
The Probation Officer is responsible for the overall supervision of a designated caseload of clients. This person will make necessary court appearances, meet with clients, maintain records of all clients (defendants) receive and deposit fees collected from clients, track progress, report failures to report and assist in the issuance of warrants for those clients who have not complied with the conditions of their probation.

_Essential Job Duties_ :
1. Develops, implements and measures case management skills and processes.
2. Represents the best interests of the client courts and personnel.
3. Properly handles deposits of funds collected from clients.
4. Administers proper paperwork as prescribed by the court and local SOP.
5. Holds regular meetings with defendants, checks progress and gives guidance to local programs.
6. Collects payments for the courts and supervision fees, when applicable.
7. Responds to calls, emails and other forms of communication in a reasonable time frame.
8. Completes all management reports and reviews as established by local office procedure and SOP.
9. Sends out mail and paperwork as required by court and office procedure.
10. Scans and file all paperwork in a timely fashion within the jurisdiction of the courts.
11. Prepares files for court in the manner outlined in the local SOP.
12. Attends court hearings when required, dressed appropriately and ready to present.
13. May be asked to perform front desk duties or attend court in place of another co-worker.
14. Other duties as assigned.
_Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements:_
Varies by state.
Must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) at a minimum.
Bachelor degree in related field preferred and/or has the equivalent of experience in social work, community corrections, probation, pretrial services or law enforcement.
_Employment Requirements_ :
Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation by the company.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.
Must comply with all requirements of the company substance abuse policy.
May be required to pass a consumer credit check depending on site assignment.
Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc. for this position.
Must be flexible in work hours to accommodate for court appearances.
Must be willing to travel to different jurisdictions and courts.
Must have knowledge of the criminal justice system and related terminology.
Must have knowledge of related laws and local administrative orders.
Must have the ability to interpret and follow court orders.
Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required_ :
Must have the ability to comply withall CHC policies and procedures.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment including computer, copier, fax and telephone equipment.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain documentation and records in a highly organized and confidential fashion.
Ability to perform tasks outlined in Policies and in accordance with applicable City, County, State and/or Federal courts, etc.
Must relate well to demanding team members and customers.

_Working Conditions_ :
Work is typically performed inside of an office, a courtroom or adjacent areas. Employee is expected to work in accordance with all office/court security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/or harm to themselves or other employees.
Employee will be operating or working around office equipment that could cause a small level of risk for injury and harm.
_Other_ :
Employee must comply with all current and future State, Federal, and Local laws and regulations, court orders, Administrative Directives and standards and policies and procedures of the work site at where they are assigned.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
