Summary:
Iqra Math & Science Academy is seeking a dynamic and engaging high school science teacher to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating lesson plans and instructing students in various science subjects based on the Alabama State Courses of Study.
The primary objective is to guide students towards intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation while fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
The teacher will establish clear objectives, administer tests and assignments, provide guidance and support to students, and provide guidance and support to students with academic difficulties or special interests.
Essential Duties:
Develop and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
Create comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum guidelines.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare classrooms and utilize appropriate learning materials and resources.
Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Provide for the care and protection of school property.
Select and requisition books, instructional aids and instructional supplies, and maintains required inventory records.
Monitor and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Foster individual student progress and offer guidance for educational development.
Encourage and supervise student participation in science competitions like the Science Olympiad.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and complete required reports.
Manage student behavior and enforce classroom, school, and district rules.
Engage in professional development activities and stay updated with subject area developments.
Collaborate with other teachers for social activities, relevant field trips, and competition preparations.
Participate in student recruiting sessions and contribute to marketing efforts.
Maintain effective communication with parents or guardians.
Other Duties:
Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant educational field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and commitment to teaching.
Creative and energetic approach to instruction.
Strong moral values and discipline.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
Licenses & Certifications as required.
Experience working in a virtual environment.
Experience encouraging and supervising student participation in science competitions.
Job Type:
Full-time, Contract Salary:
$30,000 - $40,000 Schedule:
