This includes providing initial assessments and developing individualized family support plans for consumers identified as needing services.
This position will also include providing class instruction.
Position Requirements:
Must possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related social service degree.
Experience working with families and children is a plus.
Must possess a valid Alabama Driver's license, dependable transportation and appropriate insurance for said transportation.
Must complete initial training provided by the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention when offered.
In addition, must complete a minimum of 10 hours of professional development each year.
Must be able to maintain accurate and current documentation.
Must be able to submit forms and reports in a timely manner.
Must be able to conduct home visits.
Must submit to random drug testing.
The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background information check including but not limited to FBI and ABI record repositories and Department of Human Resources Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry check.
There is no provision for reimbursement of accumulated leave upon separation from employment.
Performance
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensure that consumer's confidentiality is protected from the point that services begin.
Provide assessments and develop family support plans for consumers needing services.
Maintain case files for case continuity, documentation, effective practice and accountability.
Ensure that immediate needs of consumers seeking assistance and referral services are made to the appropriate resource or program based on the assessed needs.
Complete data entry forms, reports and correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate, direct and provide community based classes designed to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
Coordinate, deliver and monitor community and home based services.
Meet with FSC Assistant Director, on a bi-weekly basis to staff cases and provide updates on family's progress.
Maintain contact with DHR referring worker as required.
Report immediately any concerns of child abuse/neglect, domestic violence, adult protective service issues, and situations involving suicidal or homicidal ideations to supervisor.
Refer to individual personnel file for salary/compensation and work schedule.
Participate in the prevention of child abuse and neglect with the provision of the Parenting Education and Support program.
Provide information in parenting classes to families using the Active Parenting and/or Survival Skills for Women curriculum, along with material from the Children's Trust Fund office.
Identify and visit community partners and ensure they have programmatic materials on hand.
Contact with said partners should be quarterly, at a minimum.
Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
This position is supervised by the FSC Assistant Director.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Family Service Center.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
